TopStar Marketing
was established in August 1994 as Simon Stubbings’ Global Sports Management. In 1998 Matthew Stephens joined the company
as it branched out into developing sponsorship opportunities. Soon the name did not reflect the company activities and in
2000 the company was re-named TopStar Marketing Ltd. The company developed significant roles in F1, BTCC, and BRC developing
commercial opportunities for varied clients such as Damon Hill, Jaguar, SEAT and Pirelli.
In 2001 Matthew
took over control of TopStar Marketing and as MD forged a new path for the company. Signing as a works rally driver with MG
Rover heralded a new opportunity in 2002; MG Xpower Xtreme rally was launched. TopStar Marketing worked tirelessly to establish
this new concept in gift experiences and soon became one of the leading activity suppliers and a top seller in Britain’s
high streets. With the collapse of MG Rover in 2005, it could have spelt the end for what had become the World’s No
1 rally ride programme. The success of the programme had not gone unnoticed to tyre sponsor Pirelli who immediately took the
initiative to brand the programme.
Late 2006 TopStar
Drivers and TopStar Motorsport became additions to the company. These are marketed specifically to capitalise on the wide
range of services TopStar Marketing offers today.
